But Not For Me

Very near the beginning of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Elton John can be heard crooning "But Not For Me". To my dismay, the title of the song sums up the movie. I feel like they've made a movie that should really appeal to me, yet doesn't. It's British, for crying out loud! I should love this! Somehow, that rendition of the song fails to set the mood properly, and so instead of being ready to have my socks removed by an overdose of charm, I'm ready to endure the film. The film's location work shows a definite preference for slight fog, and the cinematography does nothing to dispell it.

Nitpicking

The credits mentioned two sign-language consultants, but I don't think Serena's first attempts at signing would contain errors quite like those. If she were finger spelling, then one-letter errors would be possible, but that wasn't my impression. Anyone care to set me straight?
