Fierce Creatures is an interesting follow-up to A Fish Called Wanda. I say follow-up instead of sequel because it is a reunion of cast members, not of characters. Principles John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, and Michael Palin come together to hash out the management of a zoo on the brink of closure. Cleese is his usual scene-stealing self. Kline plays two characters, but neither is as memorable as Otto. Palin's character does a neat reversal of his part in Wanda, giving him plenty of screen time to run his mouth at top speed to great delight. Although lacking most of its predecessor's tension and edge, if you've seen Wanda, Fierce Creatures is still a must-see. The plot is funny, the dialogue is fairly snappy, and some of the gags are stupendous.
