You Only Live Twice

When I sat down to watch this, I had little idea what I was in for. I was surprised by Sean Connery's aloof performance. I thought the character of Bond took himself more seriously than that. I had to laugh at several points, ironically, because I recognized elements of the genre that had been artfully parodied by Mike Myers in Austin Powers. Most of the action scenes were disappointingly poorly shot, but then, this is the '90s, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much from 1967.
