In & Out is a movie with a lot of very funny isolated moments, but a fractured plot. I almost wish the movie was designed as a sketch comedy instead of an attempt at a story. The individual laughs lack a cohesive feeling. Bob Newhart is his usual exceptional self as the most uncomfortable man in any situation. Kevin Kline isn't bad, but the writing is. Right after I saw In & Out, I had a lot to say about it. Now, it hardly seems worth remembering!
