John Woo, that is. This man can put together a film in a way that leaves you completely breathless. Forget the amazing performances by the entire cast, this film is gold on the visuals and plot alone. Yow! Travolta and Cage are outstanding. I didn't know Cage had this kind of range. Joan Allen is convincing as a wife who tries to come to grips with the fact that her husband has undergone a tremendous change, and then later that he has the face of one of the most notorious criminals around. The movie is sure to have you on the edge of your seat. It does more in the first ten minutes than most movies do in two hours. Did I mention that I loved the movie?
