Most of the characters of consequence in this movie have "airy" names. The six agonists (neither pro- nor ant- is a useful description for them, and they certainly have some agony) have names rhyming with "airy". Their names don't get much use in the dialogue, so you have to work to walk away with who-played-who information. Director Neil LaBute intentionally only used character names where real-life dialogue would demand it, instead of where plot exposition would demand it.
Getting past the names, the characters impart significant creepiness. Their neuroses are quite believable, triggering "I know someone just like that!" responses. I can't think of who I know with those characteristics, and I'm glad! My impressions of them would probably be altered by having seen this movie. The title is certainly accurate, since these characters really do feel like neighbors!
