transpixel The chain isn't the only unusual diagonal element.  From this angle, it's easier to see the unusual positioning of the trampoline in the foreground which bounces into the magenta catch basket in back.

The red piece at the top is a toggle.  Under typical circumstances it alternates the direction of the balls dropped onto it.  The path in the foreground drops onto a track that feeds one of the loops, which is barely visible just to the right of the chain.  The path toward the background drops onto the red pendulum.  The left path of the pendulum leads to the trampoline.  The right path comes down the ramp into the loop in the foreground. transpixel
