Alphabet Soup

Woo hoo! Finally, a movie that starts with X! Now I only need Q to complete my collection. Perhaps Quiz Show will be the one.

But Seriously

I've been an on- and-off fan of "The X Files" since it started. I was jazzed up about the conspiracy plots more than the gruesome ones, and the fifth and sixth season episodes have been excellent. I was really disappointed that the movie didn't thrill me the same way. I probably blew the timing, having seen part of the sixth season before seeing this. I didn't find the movie exciting as a movie or exciting as an episode, and that's not good.

Beware the Extras!

I watched the movie on a rented VHS copy, and there's a quickie with series creator Chris Carter at the beginning of the tape. If you haven't seen the movie, it is imperative that you skip this until after watching the movie. It gives away several important scenes, but it's nice to have seen afterwards. I imagine the DVD won't have this problem because you'll have to get it from the menus.
