Party On!

Mike Myers and Dana Carvey hit the set of "Saturday Night Live" one night, February 18, 1989 to be precise, with wigs, guitars, and drum sticks. Their characters went on to great success, spawning two movies, a book, and probably some other stuff. The first of those movies was aptly titled Wayne's World and boy was it great. Besides developing Wayne and Garth as characters, the movie has some great set pieces, like the tirade against product placement and the infamous Bohemian Rhapsody sequence that made Queen album sales skyrocket.

Lower than Lowe

Rob Lowe is a very funny guy. He's not what you'd normally think of as funny, though. He has a well-honed sense of how to deliver patronizing lines in a way that lets the evil show through without tipping off his prey. He hits all the right notes as super-suave Benjamin, casually dropping hints of his perfection.

No Stairway

Unfortunately, one of the movie's better in-jokes for musicians has been watered down since the original, theatrical release in America. After luring assistance in a guitar store by playing the "Can I help you?" riff, Wayne picks up his dream guitar and plays the legendary opening riff to Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven". The clerk stops him and points to a sign on the wall saying "No Stairway to Heaven". Apparently, the producers were unable to get rights to the song, and were forced to overdub something else. "No Stairway" indeed.
