Nitpicking

I'm getting less forgiving of scripts that allow the impossible while the audience is expected to accept it as possible. I don't mind if the movie is futuristic or generally sci-fi, where technology or physics aren't supposed to be the same, but not in regular action flicks. I did not appreciate:

You stab my back, I'll stab yours...

The backstabbing gets a little stale after a while. We see almost everybody betray almost everybody else, with precious little motivation. Watching Tom Cruise try to watch his back only goes so far. By the end, I was hoping he would be killed, just to break the monotony. I simply didn't care.
