Ghost in the Shell

Although a bit short on plot, this anime is thoroughly enjoyable. In a world where humanity is being augmented by manufactured parts, crime takes on a whole new meaning. The futuristic design is outstanding and the action scenes are excellent. The main protagonist, a secret agent cyborg, has a humorously pervasive tendency for doing her work naked, but then, that's anime. The opening scene in which the protagonist's body is given an overhaul is stellar. The movie also has an excellent score, from the haunting opening on, courtesy of Kenji Kawai.
