Yes, there is truly nothing else in the world quite like a Jackie Chan movie. Chan makes fighting an art, something breathtakingly beautiful to watch. The choreography has a very smooth feel to it, and the fighting tends to be extremely rhythmic. The fighting here, as with most Chan, involves a great deal of humor, as well. Seemingly random items laying around are often incorporated into the fighting and the humor.

As you might imagine, a movie with a name like Drunken Master probably involves an alcoholic. You'd be right! Siu Tien Yuen plays the uncle sent to discipline and train his wayward nephew. The funny thing about the uncle, though, is his reliance on drinking to keep him strong. He uses a fighting style revolving around drunken gods, which proves to be very effective, provided the fighter is drunk! This introduces a new element of humor into the fighting: keeping a grip on the bottle while fending off the attackers. These scenes are great to watch.

The movie is essentially a feast for the eyes. This isn't because the scenery is so beautiful, just because the action is. Plot is chopped wherever possible, most of the overdubbed talking is difficult to follow (although there isn't much of it), and the final fight is the end of the movie. Not even a congratulatory hug or a job-well-done, just the end! Another major annoyance was the sound quality. The same sound effect was used for every hit, be it kick, punch, or other.

The best feature of the movie, though, is that the poor production quality didn't interfere with the enjoyment of the movie!
